With Salah leaving Liverpool, we're asking you to pick the best forward in Premier League history

Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025/26 season, bringing the curtain down on a sensational nine-year spell with the reigning Premier League champions.

The Egypt international will depart Liverpool as a club legend. He has won the Premier League twice, as well as the FA Cup, EFL Cup and the Champions League since joining from Italian side Roma in 2017, racking up numerous individual trophies, records and milestones along the way.

Since the start of the 2017/18 season, his first at Liverpool, Salah has been directly involved in 281 Premier League goals (189 goals and 92 assists), which is more than any other player in the competition.

But where does Salah rank among the greatest forwards to have graced the Premier League? You can have your say below. We’ve selected 12 of the best and now it’s over to you to vote for your favourite.

Scroll down to read about each player and watch their best bits.

Mohamed Salah (Chelsea, Liverpool)

Salah struggled to make an impact at Chelsea, but after a spell in Italy with Fiorentina and Roma, he established himself as a world-class star during his time with Liverpool. Indeed, the Egyptian was instrumental as Liverpool won the Premier League for the second time in Arne Slot’s debut season at Anfield, scoring 29 times and providing 18 assists.

Sergio Aguero (Man City)

We all remember where we were when Aguero scored Man City’s title-winning goal in 2012. Martin Tyler's immortal "Aguerooo" line has become synonymous with that incredible moment in Premier League history. The Argentinian was a fox in the box, evident in his 184-Premier League goal haul. With 260 goals in all competitions, he is City's all-time leading marksman.

Dennis Bergkamp (Arsenal)

Bergkamp was able to play a number of positions across the Arsenal frontline, though is best remembered as a support striker. Crucially, the Dutchman struck up an understanding with a number of centre-forwards, from Ian Wright to Thierry Henry, during his time in north London. The technically-gifted forward inspired the Gunners to three Premier League titles.

Eric Cantona (Leeds, Man Utd)

Man Utd struck gold when they signed Cantona from rivals Leeds in 1992. United’s famous No 7 was able to carry out a number of duties in attack, and did so superbly. The image of the forward, chest puffed out after scoring against Sunderland in 1996, remains one of the most iconic celebrations in Premier League history.

Andrew Cole (Newcastle, Man Utd, Blackburn, Fulham, Man City, Portsmouth, Sunderland)

Cole’s goalscoring exploits fall a little under the radar, but the former England international was a world-class goal machine on his day. Remarkably, only one of Cole's 187 Premier League goals was a penalty. His 34-goal haul for Newcastle in 1993/94 was a record that stood until Erling Haaland’s debut campaign with Man City.

Didier Drogba (Chelsea)

Drogba took some time to adjust to the rigours of Premier League football. However, once the Ivorian got to grips with the division, he’d tie even the league’s best defenders in knots. He enjoyed two 20+ goal seasons in the Premier League and was renowned as a big-game player, scoring nine goals in nine cup finals for the Blues.

Erling Haaland (Man City)

Thierry Henry (Arsenal)

Mr Va Va Voom was nigh-on impossible to stop. The Frenchman was incredible during Arsenal’s prime years under Arsene Wenger, landing four Premier League Golden Boots, a record he shares with Salah. Henry was more than a prolific scorer, though, and still holds the joint-record (with Kevin De Bruyne) for the most assists in a single season with 20, set in 2002/03.

Harry Kane (Spurs)

One of the greatest strikers to grace the Premier League, Kane rose through the ranks at Spurs, becoming the club's all-time record goalscorer in 2023. The England star scored for fun in the Premier League up until his move to Bayern Munich later that year, netting 213 times, the second-most goals in the competition's history.

When United first signed Ronaldo in 2003, few could have foreseen the Portuguese forward evolving into one of the game’s best strikers. Having initially started as a winger, Ronaldo developed to become the most feared frontman in world football. He scored 103 goals across two stints at Old Trafford.
